The cooling system of the injection mold, as the core part of the mold, is very important for the whole injection molding. The cooling system takes away all the heat transferred from the high temperature plastic to the mold as quickly as possible, so as to keep the temperature of the mold within a certain range and make the products cool quickly to obtain the best product quality.
In order to improve the production efficiency and ensure the quality of the products, the design of the cooling system of the injection mold should follow the following principles.
1. Reasonably determine the size of the cooling water hole and the spacing
The distribution of mold temperature is closely related to the size and density of the water holes. The larger the aperture of the cooling water hole, the more dense the arrangement between the water holes, the more uniform the distribution of mold temperature. Generally speaking, the center distance between the pipes is 3 times to 5 times the diameter is more common.
2. The distance between the cooling pipe and the surface of the cavity should be reasonable
Distance is too large, thermal resistance, cooling efficiency will be reduced; and the distance is too small will cause the surface temperature of the cavity is not uniform. According to experience, the distance from the cooling water channel to the surface of the cavity is between 1 and 2 times the diameter of the pipe is more appropriate, for the thickness of the same parts, in order to make the cooling uniform, the distance from the water hole to the surface of the cavity is best equal.
3. Water and material in parallel to strengthen the cooling at the gate
Since the melt is injected into the cavity from the gate, the temperature near the gate is the highest, so it is necessary to strengthen the cooling near the gate as the population of coolant and make the overall flow of cooling water tend to be in the same direction as the flow of plastic melt.
4. Minimize the temperature difference between the outgoing and incoming water of the mold cooling pipe
Coolant in the mold there is a process of heat absorption, the temperature of the water is higher than the temperature of the water, but if the temperature difference between the two is too large, the surface temperature of the mold cavity is not uniform, will cause uneven cooling of the plastic parts, especially for the larger plastic parts, this effect is more obvious.
